Syndication

Sharing: and feeds

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a really simple way to keep up with a photographers latest work.

If you have a feed reader, a modern browser or mail reader that supports RSS feeds, you can subscribe to the following PhotoStock Plus feeds:

  • Photographers' homepage: The feed includes the 10 most recently added photos.
  • Any Album: The feed includes the 10 most recently added photos.
  • Search results: The top 10 search results for a given search term in the selected category.

I've never heard of this. How do you do it?

Firefox rss feed

Pages with feeds have the RSS and ATOM logos at the bottom. How you subscribe depends on your reader, but it's usually easy and there are good tutorials online.

If you use Firefox, here's how to do it:

  1. rss feed iconWhen you surf to a PhotoStock Plus page that enables feeds, an orange logo will appear in the lower right of Firefox.
  2. Click that logo. A pop-up menu with two choices will appear. They both begin with the words 'Subscribe to'
  3. Choose ATOM or RSS (there isn't much difference).
  4. Your feed will be displayed as a bookmark.

That's all there is to it. Your feed will be updated periodically. In Firefox, it will appear as a pull-down list where bookmarks normally go, as you see at right.
